Double your chocolate pleasure with two layers of brownies frosted and topped with chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

Notes

Because the frosting is poured on the brownie when it's completely cool, the frosting will appear thicker than when poured onto a hot brownie or cake.

Total time incorporates cooling.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (17.8 oz) Betty Crocker Supreme triple chunk brownie mix. (Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box)
  • 1 Cup Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting (from 16 oz container)
  • 9 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups miniatures, unwrapped, coarsely chopped

Unsalted Butter – 150 grams
Sugar – 1 1/4 cup / 250 grams
Cocoa Powder – 3/4 cup / 75 grams
Water – 2 tsp
Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Egg – 2
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1/3 cup + 1 tblspn

(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)

Preheat oven to 160 degree C. Line a 20 cm square pan with parchment paper and grease it with butter.

Take butter in a sauce pan, melt it gently till it gets into brown butter. Set aside.

Now take Sugar, cocoa, water, salt, vanilla, and eggs in a bowl and whisk till combined.

Now add in the hot brown butter, scrape all the brown bits. Now mix it well.

Add in flour and mix well. Add in reese peanut butter cup and mix well.

Spoon this into the pan and bake for 25 mins or insert a toothpick to check for doneness.

Let it cool completely. Now put this in fridge for 30 mins before slicing.
